Traffic, Traffic, Traffic
Everybody talks about getting traffic to your blog but how do you do that? Here’s a few ways I’ve learned that can help you get viewership and repeat visitors.
#1. It’s All in the Setup
I’m assuming you have a blog set up here so let’s talk ‘facevalue’. If you want traffic you have to have an appealing looking website. Nice colors, layout, limited pop-ups, and attractive pictures and graphics. First looks are important. Review some of the more popular sites that have lots of traffic and take notes on common themes and appearance. Is it obvious what the site is for? If you’re into health and wellness, does it have a health & wellness theme? Also, what’s ‘under the hood’ with your site? Do have the latest plugins, are they active? Do you have an Opt-in box attached to your autoresponder? Is your site ‘optimized’? These things are critical for gaining traffic.
#2. Backlinks to Gain Traffic
Are you utilizing the systems to help get your content out? There are several out there. These systems drive traffic to your site. Once you post the content on your site, you should have a routine to post your link into other sites through backlink generators. Some of these include SocialAdr, PixelPipe, TribePro, or Ping.fm. There are several free sites too such as Pingler. Are you posting to other blog sites within your niche? Provide a half post to these sites and direct them “to see more, go to myblog” to read the full post.
Are you utilizing an article ‘spinner’ like Article Marketing Robot? Lastly, post comments on other heavy trafficked sites. If they like your comments, they may check your site out too. This will allow other to find you. More traffic!
#3. Social Media
Are you using a ‘one stop post’ site like OnlyWire? Use these sites to post your link to Facebook, Google+, Tumblr, LinkIn, Digg, etc. These are typical site for driving traffic. This is a great way to get your content out to all your social media sites when posting to one site. Also, if you haven’t been using Pinterest yet, you’re missing out. It’s great for traffic. Ensure that each of your articles have a graphic since Pinterest looks for graphic to post. It’s the third most visited social media website right now. Take advantage. This should a great source to drive traffic to your blog.
#4. Headline
Do you have a title that sparks curiosity and suck them in? This is the first thing they see and it’s got to pull them in. The byline and first couple of sentences should pique their interest to continue reading. This should compliment the title and describe what your post is trying to solve without giving away the ‘meat & potatoes’ of the content, a traffic must.
#5. Content
Is what your post solving a problem for the reader in your niche? If you’re a network marketer, are solving issues with leadership, self-improvement, lead generation, closing, selling, etc. Ask yourself, what problems did I have that I have knowledge about that people want to read? Review other prominent network marketer’s websites to get ideas and use the information to write about it in your own words. Be authentic.
The better you incorporate theses concepts, the more repeat traffic you’ll get.
Lastly, are you posting consistently? The bloggers with the most traffic post great content and often blog 4-7 times a week. Be consistent. I hope this helps.
To your success!
