Why People Fail

The only thing holding you back is you.  There are winner and loser in all aspects in life.  Based on the numbers, only a small percentage are winners.  Those who are winners have mastered their inner game.

“You have two parts to your mind, a prover and a thinker.  The prover proves what the thinker thinks.  If your thought is ‘I can’t’ than your prover side will bring into your existence that which proves…you were right, ‘You can’t’.  If your thought is ‘I can’, in the same way your prover side of your mind will bring things and situations into your existence that which proves…you were right, ‘You can!’ ” – George Zalucki

The Connection

There is a never-ending connection between the inner game in sport and the inner game of business to build success techniques in the athletic and business worlds.  Have you heard that success in 80% mental and only 20% applied skill?  You could be a ‘brainiac’ and have all knowledge in your field, but having no guts or skills to apply what’s in your head will get you nowhere.

Where Does the Inner Game Lie?

The inner game is really how you see yourself and how disciplined your are in successful habits.

- Self esteem

- Self image

- Self discipline

Self Esteem

Let me set up the next few questions; if your subconscious doesn’t agree with your conscience mind, you can speak of how great you are but subconsciously you won’t buy it.

How much are you worth?

How much money should you make?

How much is your time worth?

Your belief in yourself and how you hold yourself is the first key to success.  Any negative thought you have about yourself is typically compounded by your ‘prover’ side of your mind.  It holds so much power.  Want to ‘get over it’?  Set reasonable goals.  Take action. Enjoy the little success in life. Be around positive people. Increase your worth by increasing your knowledge and applied skills.  Eventually you’ll get rid of the ‘head trash’ and replace it with good, fulfilling, successful things.  When your esteem goes up, so does you value of your bank account.

Self Image

How do you see yourself?  If you have a mindset that you’ll never make more than $100k a year, then you’re probably right.  You never see yourself with the ‘trophy spouse’ then you’ll never get the chance to talk to one.  If you never see yourself winning the game, you won’t put your heart into it and assuredly you will lose.  Stop saying ‘I can’t’ or ‘I’ll never be able to do that’ or reach this or that.  Self talk is a killer or a uplifter.  See yourself as a millionaire and eventually you’ll get there.

Self Discipline

In my opinion this is where people really screw things up.  I’ll borrow this next few sentences from an audio by Larry Winget.  If you are overweight, you have to stop doing things that makes you overweight.  You if are in debt, stop doing things that places you in debt.  If you’re unsuccessful, you have to give up what’s making you unsuccessful in order to be successful.

Jim Rohn says that most people do not associate lack of discipline with lack of success.

Success is a daily thing.  You have to replace unsuccessful habits (the habits that got you to where you are now) with successful habits.  How?  Darren Hardy says focus on one thing you need to change for 14 days. Soon, it will become a habit (doing it and not really thinking about it).

Discipline will make you or break you.  Make ‘the shift.’  Failure or mistakes are common when trying to reinvent yourself.  It’s easy to revert to old comfortable habits.  Keep trying consistently and persistently doing the successful things and great things will come.

Big Surprise

This should come as no surprise to anybody.  It’s not your upbringing, your education, your job, your spouse, your friends, your town, the economy, President Obama, etc…pick any one.  It’s you and only you that determines your success or failure in life.  It’s your fault.  Positive or negative, it’s all on you.  Take accountability and responsibility for your life and it’s results.  Get your head straight, say ‘I’m worth it” and discipline yourself to conduct daily successful habits and your dreams will come true.

Work on your inner game.  It’s the only game you got to achieve which once may have been impossible.
